Since the beginning, the struggle to preserve and protect McMillan Park has demonstrated overwhelming public opposition to the destruction of our historically landmarked green space & waterworks at McMillan Park.
Summer 2013 DMPED surplussing hearing at All Nations’ Church:
45 persons testified, 42 of the 45 opposed surplussing. About 150 persons in attendance. Here is the link to the comments collected (DMPED staff hand transcribed the testimonials; There exists no electronic audio or video recording by the city thus several of those who testified were missed in the official notes for the record).
Summer 2014 DC Zoning hearings in Case #13-14
* letters in opposition to the destruction of the park: 517 || letters in support: 96 * persons testifying in opposition: 53 || persons testifying in support: 19 * total letters and testifiers in opposition: 570 || total in support: 115 — Keep in mind that many of the letters in support of the development were drafted by Vision McMillions Partners who paid people to go door to door to collect letters of support as well as from people associated with the development. VMP is funding a campaign to show support for their development.

- Here is the link to a Washington City Paper poll.
- Here is a link to a City Paper Article explaining that the closer you get to McMillan – the more opposition there is!
- Here is a link to the ANC survey. This survey was conducted by the ANC reps in Bloomingdale and was blessed and reviewed by Kenyan McDuffie. The ANC commissioners went to great lengths to get responses from as many residents as possible.
